Little Miss Elora Noelle

So, with the new slippers comes some attitude!
Elie came out with her ballerina outfit, and these tights... when I suggested that she try her plane white or pink tights she said, "But mom, I want my costume to be more beautifuler... and these are so beautiful!"She came out and showed me just how beautiful her outfit is!

Happy Halloween!

Slipper Day!

Every year on Halloween we have taken the kids out to get slippers, kind-of as a way to take the edge off of focusing so much on Halloween and candy and such. This year is the first year it has really clicked with the kids and they totally got into it!
Usually we go out to get them on Halloween, but given the hectic nature of our schedule this week, we went as a family on Sunday to let everyone pick theirs out. We weren't sure how the kids would handle not seeing the slippers until today - but they totally forgot!
When Bryce pulled out the slippers this morning everyone shrieked for joy! Jadon marched around the house, slippers under his arms, shouting, "Slipper Day! Slipper Day! Halloween is Slipper DAY!"
So Happy Slipper Day to you All!

Leaving Town

So we will be "moving" briefly here in a week. We will be moving into our minivan and staying in hotels for the next 2 - 3 months! Crazy - I know. But this is what God has for our family, as it's happening!! So I'm trusting that everything will be taken care of and fall into place. We leave next Monday and have a mountain load of things to accomplish before then.

Bryce was asked to step into the roll of install coordinator and part of that job is to also install the software he's been selling. So, we will tour the southern and western states and see all their Nursing homes! Yay! He and his boss have 70+ sites to install before the end of the year - which isn't humanly possible for two people, so our little family will be moving back into our house that has a foundation sometime in January.

If you are interested in following along in our great adventure you can view our trip blog at http://www.ourgreatestadventureyet.blogspot.com Hope to see ya around:o)!

2nd Annual Pumpkin Party!

We celebrated our Second Annual Pumpkin Party this year! It was small and intimate this time - but tons of fun just the same... maybe more so? :o) Both Elie and Jadon got really excited about creating their pumpkin faces. Elie's is a princess pumpkin with curls and all, and Jadon wanted a scary face. The cutest part is that he became very attached to his pumpkin's eyes and insisted that they be put back in.
Such fun:o)! Mommy tries her hand at the carving part... hmm, Daddy took over!

Aunt Pat helps Jadon get the slime out. Oddly enough he wasn't as in to that part as I thought he'd be.
He sure loved it being done though! He had so much fun!Of course we had to see them all out side and lit.

Well, that's our pumpkin party! Oh yeah, we also ate:o)! Soup, corn bread, salad and TONS of candy! What's this time of year without candy??

Hope you are enjoying your fall and all the delights of this season!

And Now...

Elie started to sing and I had to run and grab the camera.

I just couldn't pass up this opportunity:o). She is learning news songs at Awanas each week, and comes home so excited about them, and everything else she learns.

It is so much fun to hear her vocabulary growing and her understanding as well as her articulation of what she's understanding expand. I fall more in love with my kids with each passing day!

Just a couple of other pictures of my babies!

Pass the Love Around!

To day is a lovie day! As Elie and Jadon sat eating their lunch Elie turned to Jadon and said, "Jadon, I love you."
Jadon responded with, "I love you too, sissy." Then climbed down off his stool and came over to me, hugged my arm and said, "I love you, Mommy. Yeah. Me do."
Ahh, the pleasure of raising children!

Mousetrap Theater

We had our second field trip today! A group of home schoolers got together and went down to Shipshewana, Indiana - Amish Country - to visit a puppet theater and see a puppet show. We were entertained by Circus Around the World, and the puppeteer talked with the kids after the show, allowing them to see the puppets up close and showing them how they work, etc... it was a blast! The kids loved it.

Afterwards we rode a carousel and got lunch at a local pretzel place. It was a total success!

Waiting for the show to begin

Question time

Learning how it works

This is Danika and Jadon... Danika is our babysitter - the kids favorite person outside of mom and dad, Jadon could hardly be parted from her!

The Carousel afterwards... we were the only group on it... hmm wonder why!

Brushing Hair

Our usual hair brushing routine is for Elie to scream into a pillow when I brush out tangles. Well, this morning her precious Pinkie was with her. (For those of you not lucky enough to know Pinkie, she is a stuffed pink poney that Elie choose about a year ago to replace her pacifier habit, and now Pinkie goes everywhere with Elie). And instead of the usual screaming, I was treated to a chorus of "AHHH! Neighhhhh! AHHHH! Neighhh! - Don't worry Pinkie, these tangles only last a second - AHHH! Neighhhh!"

Only a girl!

Sleepy Weekend

We have been hit by the crud going around:o(... so this last weekend we spent cuddled in bed snoozing and watching movies. It was such a special time that I couldn't help documenting it. Usually being sick isn't fun (and this time really isn't fun either), but so many precious moments have come out of this family cold that we have begun to see it as natures way of "stopping" life and giving us a much needed rest.
